Earlier Whitehaven had opened the scoring after five minutes through Richard Leopi but the Hawks replied with a James Duckworth try.
Haven regained the lead through Rhoddri Lloyd and increased it soon after the break as Tyla Hepi scored.
This seemed to spark Hunslet into life and Mufaru Mvududu did well to hold a flat pass from Andy Kain to go under the sticks. Jimmy Watson then scored the try of the game as a Luke Briscoe break was backed up by George Flanagan who didn’t have the pace to get over but held the ball up for the full-back to notch.
The scoring was then completed when Flanagan spotted a gap in the Whitehaven defensive line and managed to get the ball down.
