Hawks hopeful over Luke

Have your say

HALF-BACK Luke Helliwell is expected to be available for Hunslet Hawks’ home Co-op Championship clash with Leigh Centurions on August 5, despite suffering concussion in the 52-22 loss to Halifax two days ago, writes PETER SMITH.

“He came off in the second half,” said Eaton. “He got a whack in a tackle, but we’re hoping it’s not too serious.

“We don’t have a game this weekend and hopefully Luke will be available for Leigh, so we came out of it better than we normally do.”

Despite the scoreline, Eaton felt Hawks battled well against the league’s second-placed side.

“When we had an even split of possession we competed really well with them,” he said.

“It was a big improvement on the week before when we played Featherstone.”
