Dewsbury Rams coach Warren Jowitt is happy with his side’s brief pre-season programme.

Rams beat Co-op Championship rivals Batley Bulldogs on Boxing Day and will play their second and final trial game in two days’ time when they face visitors Bradford Bulls.

“We haven’t got an overly big squad,” Jowitt, explained.

“Craig Cook won’t be playing on Sunday because he is injured and Luke Blake has got an Achilles problem and I won’t risk him if he’s not right.

“It would be nice to see some more combinations, but I am running with a small squad and I don’t want to risk more injuries going into competition.”

Jowitt plans to field all his available players on Sunday, with Greg Scott, Jon Schofield and Derrell Olpherts all coming off the bench for their first appearance of the winter.
