FORMER LEEDS Rhinos prop Jordan Baldwinson has been named Kingstone Press Championship young player of the year.

Baldwinson joined Rovers on a one-year deal after spells with Auckland Warriors and Bradford Bulls.

No decision has yet been confirmed on whether he will rejoin Rhinos next year.

Runners-up were his Rovers and ex-Rhinos teammate Thomas Minns and Dewsbury Rams’ Joel Farrell.

There was consolation for Rams, who were named Championship club of the year and other award winners were: Championship player: Lee Gaskell (Bradford Bulls); Championship coach: Richard Marshall (Halifax); League 1 player: Lewis Palfrey (Oldham); League 1 young player: Matty Beharrell (Newcastle Thunder); League 1 coach: Scott Naylor (Oldham); League 1 club: Keighley Cougars; Championship project: Bradford Bulls; League 1 project: Coventry Bears; Foundation: Leigh Community Trust; Supporters Direct community champion: Laura Dimberline.
