Dewsbury Rams 38 Rochdale 20: Dewsbury’s late surge sinks Hornets

Have your say

DEWSBURY RAMS scored four unanswered tries in the final half-an-hour to grab victory and deny Rochdale a bonus point.

Rochdale grabbed the first points but were pegged back in the 23rd minute when Tommy Gallagher crossed the line with his first touch of the ball. Keiran Hyde was next to score under the posts, and in the 33rd minute Dewsbury centre Shane Grady broke the line and shrugged off the attentions of Wayne English before off-loading to Thackeray who raced in.

Rochdale had the final say of the half to make it 18-12, and levelled when Crook converted Langley’s try three minutes into the second half. Hyde kicked the restart out on the full and from the halfway line Crook landed his fourth goal to nudge Rochdale in front. Rams won with tries from Austin Buchanan (twice), Sam Wood and Karl Pryce.
