Castleford Tigers’ hopes of hanging on to on-loan half-back Marc Sneyd have been dashed.
Super League rivals Hull today announced they have signed Sneyd - who is currently on a season-long loan at Castleford - from Salford Red Devils on a long-term contract beginning in 2015.
Hull say they paid a “substantial fee” for the 23-year-old, who has scored five tries and kicked 64 goals for Tigers so far this year.
Tigers had been keen to keep Sneyd, who joined them as part of the deal which took Rangi Chase to Salford last year.
In a statement released by Hull, Sneyd said: “It’s a side where I feel I can achieve something as an individual and as a team.
“I think for me it was an opportunity that was too good to miss.”
Hull have also announced the signing of former Bradford Bulls, St Helens and Great Britain stand-off Leon Pryce, from Catalan Dragons.
