Castleford’s in-form prop forward Craig Huby has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until at least the end of 2014.
The 24-year-old Huby, whose current deal was due to run out at the end of the season, has been a key player in the Tigers’ 100% start to Engage Super League XVI.
“I’m really pleased and I think all of the fans should be as well,” said Castleford coach Terry Matterson.
“It would have been madness if we had lost Craig as I think his best rugby is in front of him and I’ve no doubt that he’ll play some representative football down the line.
“He’ll be the cornerstone of our pack for many years and I know Craig is very happy with it.”
Huby, who has scored 406 points in his 160 appearances, is Castleford’s longest-serving player, having made his debut for his home-town club against Leeds as a 16-year-old in 2003.
“I just wanted to show how loyal I am,” Huby said. “I never wanted to go anywhere else.”
