Cas freeze 'reward for fans'
NEXT year's ticket price freeze is a "reward" for Castleford Tigers' fans, according to chief executive Richard Wright.
Tigers have taken an early decision to freeze season ticket and match day admission prices for the 2010 engage Super League XV campaign.
Wright said: "We feel the team is improving – as results this year have shown – and are confident that things will continue in that direction, but we are only too aware that, following the downturn in the economy, times are very hard for many of our fans.
"They have been extremely loyal to us in recent years and this decision gives us an opportunity to in turn recognise and reward that loyalty.
"All prices will remain as they have been for the current season, but we would urge fans who don't hold one already to consider a season ticket as that is where they can make the biggest savings, as well as benefiting from additional benefits which are of real value."
Season tickets for next year will go on sale at the Jungle on August 23, when Tigers take on Wigan Warriors.
Mini-season tickets – for the last five home games of this season – are available now, priced 69 for adults and 20 juniors.
Meanwhile, Tigers forward Anthony England has joined Gateshead Thunder on a month's loan.
England made two substitute appearances in Cas' senior side during 2005.
Thunder now have an entire pack signed or on loan from Castleford.
Huddersfield Giants' reserve grade half-back/back-row Ed Barber has signed for Tigers until the end of the season.
The move is part of a loan-exchange which sees Cas second team loose-forward Shane Tasker-Howard move to Galpharm Stadium.
Tasker-Howard joined Tigers from the East Leeds amateur club.
Barber is a Huddersfield local who played for the senior team in one pre-season game this year.
Tigers coach Terry Matterson will select his side for tomorrow's visit of Les Catalans Dragons from the 17 who won at Huddersfield last week, plus prop Chris Feather and teenage three-quarter Jordan Thompson.
