ROTHERHAM UNITED: Price must be right to land Reuben warns Millers boss
ROTHERHAM boss Mark Robins says would be suitors must pay the appropriate price to lure want-away striker Reuben Reid.
Reid, 20, has handed in a transfer request and already been the subject of a reported 100,000 bid from MK Dons.
The striker scored 19 goals last season and has not taken up the option of another year on his contract that runs out at the end of next term.
Said Robins: "Any club that comes in for him will have to match our valuation.
"We are not going to be giving someone away."
On the arrivals front, Robins has already made four new signings in striker Tom Pope from Crewe Alexandra, winger Kevin Ellison from Chester City and both midfielder Nicky Law and goalkeeper Jamie Annerson from Sheffield United.
However, Robins has revealed there may still be more to come.
"I wanted to get two or three in fairly quickly and had identified players I wanted," said Robins.
"It doesn't mean that we are done. I am still looking to add to the squad.
"But there is no need to rush either.
"I'm happy to have done things early and now I'll be prepared to wait as will if necessary.
"When clubs start returning to pre-season training is often a time when things start moving.
"We are not going to have as big a squad as we had last season, but I believe it will be stronger and there is going to be strong competition for places."
Meanwhile, midfielder Danny Harrison has signed a one-year extension to his contract at the club.
"It was an easy decision really," he said.
"We have made some good additions in the summer and the club is really on the up at the moment.
"To stay was a no-brainer to be honest.
"I see no reason why we shouldn't be in the play-offs or the automatic promotion places next year."
Meanwhile, Rotherham's home clash against Rochdale will now take place a day later than first scheduled, moving to Sunday, August 23rd at the Don Valley Stadium.
The shift is due to a U2 concert being held at the stadium on the Thursday before.
The Carling Cup tie with Derby at Don Valley has also been confirmed as being 10 for adults and 5 concessions, with details on ticket sales to be announced shortly.
The tie is to be played Tuesday, August 11, 7.45pm kick-off.
The game comes three days after Rotherham's League Two curtain-raiser at home to Accrington Stanley.
