Temple AFC U-15s 0

Farsley Celtic Jnr U-15s 13

Date: Sunday, October, 21

Competition: Leeds & District FA, Black Prince Trophy 1st Round.

A Farsley Celtic reportedly with seven ex-Academy players in their team gave a plucky Temple side a lesson in football.

Not that Temple played poorly, they were just out-played and out- manouvered by a team that oused class.

All credit to Temple, and keeper Paul Lineham in particular, that Farsley Celtic were forced to wait until the 18th minute before opening the scoring. The goalie pulled off a number of amazing saves, receiving acknowledgement from the Farsley coach, as Farsley Celtic peppered the Temple goal.

When the dam broke it did so big style with three more goals in quick succession. Another goal just before half-time saw the score at 5 - 0 for the turn around.

With the Temple attack and midfield almost completely snuffed out by a confident, competent Farsley the onus fell onto the Temple defence where several below par performances led to some woeful errors and

Farsley were only too happy to pile on the agony. Paul Lineham, Andy Manchester and Ash Pollard continued to turn in decent performances.

Ash narrowly missed the target from distance, and Richard Lappage had a header saved on the line but the pressure was relentless and unstoppable. Final score 13 - 0

Temple AFC man-of-the match: Ash Pollard

Worthy of note: Paul Lineham
