Yorks trio wrap up national title glory
Yorkshire players captured a trio of titles in the National Squash Championships at SportCity, Manchester.
Jenny Duncalf, the 26-year-old from Harrogate, took the women's title while the men's event was won by Nick Matthew (Sheffield).
Simon Parke (Heaton) secured the Over 35 Championship, despite a hamstring injury halfway through the match.
Parke, 36, the coaching professional at Heaton, Bradford, said his injury had not caused him to hobble and he was able to recover from a two-game deficit.
Duncalf, the top seed, lost the opening game of her final against Alison Waters (Middlesex).
But she battled back splendidly, at times going into overdrive, with fine cross-court work combined with a gritty determination to succeed.
Matthew defeated Pontefract's James Willstrop, the favourite, in the semi-final 11-8 12-10 11-5.
And in the final he beat Adrian Grant (Kent) without dropping a game.
