Pickles canters to victory

Pudsey Pacers runner Karen Pickles won the Apperley Bridge Canter race for this second year running at the weekend.

Pickles took the winners medal in the event organised by Horsforth Harriers in 39.19 minutes, just one second behind the time she set last year.

Leeds City AC's Jennie Guard finished a close second with a time of 39.57.

In the men's race, Tom Adams of Ilkley Harriers recorded a time of 34.19 as he came second to Dublin-based Chris Cariss.

Horsforth resident Tom Midgely of Bingley Harriers was third in 34.40.
