Northern Rail Cup: Dewsbury Rams trio are sidelined

An early-season injury crisis has left the Dewsbury Rams reeling.

Coach Warren Jowitt said his side will be without Ayden Faal (hamstring), James Craven (dead leg) and Pat Walker (fractured cheekbone) for Sunday’s Northern Rail Cup tie at Featherstone Rovers.

Ankle injury victims Ed Barber and Scott Spavin both sat out the opening 36-6 home defeat by Halifax last weekend, but Jowitt said: “They should be fit, they are 60-40 in favour at the moment.”

Jowitt said dual-registered Castleford Tigers duo John Davies and Billy Harris could step in this weekend, along with Matty Nicholson – a dual-registered Leeds Rhinos forward – and George Flanagan.
