Although it appears to be a repetitive phrase but we were very unlucky yet again!
However we started slowly and found ourselves 1-0 down on 3 minutes after some poor defending. We almost equalised a few minutes later with Markel, but their keeper made a good save. We persisted and Markel scored with a wonder goal on 18 minutes, which was a volleyed lob from distance.
From then on the game was quite even but on the stroke of half time a lack of concentration allowed Old Mods a free shot from the edge of the box.
The second half saw Old Mods go 3-1 up on 38 minutes after we allowed a shot from distance which although was an excellent goal they should not have had the opportunity to shoot.
Once again, as we have displayed in all our games, a good battling attitude was shown by all the players.
We pulled a goal back on 45 minutes from an absolutely amazing strike by Stephen.
After the goalkeeper made a clearance which left him out of position and Stephen shot first time from virtually the half way line which found the net! From then on it was all North East Leeds in search of an equaliser.
We had a free kick, taken by Markel from the edge of the box which was millimetres over the bar. We were denied an equaliser in the dying stages of the game after a controversial refereeing decision.
Markel was clean through on goal and finished but the game was pulled back for an off side decision against another player even though he was not interfering with play. Surely our luck will change!
Man of the match was a close decision between Stephen, Josh, Billy and Declan but Billy's consistency and general understanding of the game resulted in him receiving the award for the second time in three games.
Squad: Trust Ncube, Billy Clarke, Ramiro Sturla, Stephen Carr, Declan Denison, Josh Baggott (c), Lawrence Roberts, Oliver Batley, Aiden Yaffe, Markel Henry, Michael Chukwu, Max Burley & Macaulay Bennett.
