North East Leeds 11

Middleton Park 0

Date: Sunday, September 30

Competition: Garforth Junior League

The scoreline speaks for itself - an outstanding 11-0 win over Middleton Park and our first ever league win!

Once again we started quite slowly although it was all North East Leeds and we created several chances but they failed to reach the back of the net.

The deadlock was broken on 20 minutes where Aiden shot from distance and the keeper saved it but Markel followed it up and finished well.

On 24 minutes Josh scored having taken the ball around the keeper and put the ball into the empty net. Markel made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time with an absolute stunner of a half volley taken from distance.

Players were reminded at half time to keep their concentration and this advice was clearly taken on board.

Josh opened the scoring in the second half with a speedy long distance run down the wing and found himself with only the keeper to beat and finished calmly. A minute later we were 5-0 up after Josh put an excellent corner in, which a Middleton player headed into their own goal.

In the 43rd minute Markel topped off an excellent performance by getting a hat trick. Oliver played a brilliant ball through the defence and Markel sublimely chipped it over the keeper to make it 6-0. Only minutes later we were 7-0 up after another brilliant corner from Josh that was headed in fantastically by Stephen.

On the 48th minute Markel made it his fourth goal after Oliver put a great ball back into the box allowing Markel an easy tap-in. Aiden scored our ninth when he took Middleton's defence on and made the space to get a shot in and finished well. Josh then made it 10-0 after more hard work down the wing and eventually placed the ball into the back of the net giving our captain his hat-trick.

Aiden then concluded the scoring within a minute having got onto the end of a through ball took it around the keeper and tapped it away.

Throughout the game there were other opportunities for us to score but the Middleton keeper made some excellent saves. Middleton should be applauded for keeping their heads up and displaying some excellent passing.

Every North East Leeds player had an excellent game with particularly notable performance from Oliver who worked tirelessly on the right wing earning himself man of the match award. Michael played excellently on his first start of the season and Declan and Josh in the centre of midfield were brilliant with non-stop hard work and effort. Fortunately for us Trust and the defence (Billy, Stephen, Ramiro & Macaulay) did not have much to do but when they were called upon they did their jobs well.

The two strikers Aiden and Markel began to display some an understanding of each others game with some good passing. Well done lads and hopefully we can take this performance into next weeks game.

North East Leeds squad: Trust Ncube, Billy Clarke, Stephen Carr, Ramiro Sturla, Macalay Bennett, Oliver Batley, Declan Denison, Josh Baggott(c), Michale Chukwu, Aiden Yaffe, Markel Henry.
