Vice-chairman Phil Hodgson told Kippax Today: "It's a decision which has been made in excited anticipation but also, we have to admit, in some sorrow.
"We've had magnificent support over our first two years from the Oak's landlord, Lou Banham, and his wife Margaret, who sadly passed away in October last year. We will never forget the warmth of their hospitality.
"However logistical issues, in particular the imminent closure of the Oak, have left us with no alternative other than to look elsewhere and, after consulting most of the excellent outlets in the village, we have settled on the Rose & Crown, which is a superb pub.
"Landlord Mark and his wife Pete have already made us feel very much at home. There's a buoyant feel about the place and being based at the Rose & Crown will give us a new lease of life. We've no doubt we'll go from strength to strength there."
The Royals, who have been promoted to the CMS Yorkshire League's Unison First Division, travel to Brotherton on the opening day of the campaign, on Saturday 5 September. Their first home fixture, seven days later, is against Crofton Cougars.
Former Hunslet, Bradford Northern, Wigan and Great Britain prop Kelvin Skerrett has been appointed coach, and all players new and old are welcome.
