Calverley A's home fixture, a 2-2 draw had been 'feisty' - would the return match be the same?
The first half had Calverley playing down the slope and the major share of the play, but with no real chances; could Sutton take advantage in the second half.
Or would Calverley's numerous chances be turned into goals? Calverley started purposefully with early shots by Danny Taylor and Lewis Waddington narrowly missing the goal.
In the 6th minute of the second half Lewis Waddington's shot beat the Sutton keeper. Play interrupted for attention to an injured Sutton player slowed Calverley's momentum and Sutton were unlucky not to score.
Eventually Calverley re-applied pressure and Danny Taylor, assisted by a deflection, scored their second.
The game developed an edge, but Calverley's persistence led to their third, courtesy of Harry Davis and another assist by a Sutton defender.

Calverley started brightly with sustained pressure preventing Sutton getting into the Calverley half for the first three minutes of the game, but despite numerous chances, were unable to make their possession count.
Sutton eventually woke up and forced a corner on 6 minutes, followed by more pressure from Calverley that produced a corner and a goal-mouth scramble with Sutton lucky to escape unscathed.
On 14 minutes, Immad Akram from the right wing found a telling pass into the path of Chris Brown who shot crisply into the net.
With half-time rapidly approaching, more pressure from Calverley finally produced a second goal with Thomas Reynolds scoring with a long range shot from the left wing.
Sutton's manager had clearly taken lessons in motivation from Alex Ferguson, as their second half display bore no relation to their lacklustre first: "the hairdryer" had worked.
The game ranged from end to end with Sutton having the best of it.
Their efforts producing a fine goal from Thomas Hoddy, leaving Calverley with a nail-biting last 5 minutes to successfully defend their lead and avenge their earlier home defeat to Sutton.
