Calverley came put of the blocks like a greyhound chasing a hare.

Harris Thompson put through Danny Taylor who , who as cool as a block of vieneta ice cream, slotted the ball home past the Stanningley keeper.

This fired up Stanningley who after some stong attacking scored a deserved equalizer through Ethan Whittaker.

Calverley were not to be outdone and responded like a cat shown a bath full of water with Danny Taylor scoring his second. Stanningley put Calverley blues under as much pressure as an elephant standing on a stool but to no avail.

All was lost when Danny Taylor split the Stanningley defence with a great pass to Harris Thompson who scored placing the ball pass the keeper al a Berbatov esque.

Calverley Yellows U-9s 3

Stanningley Black U-9s 2

Calverley Yellows came onto this game with 3 matches in hand against a Stanningley team which had only lost once.

The Calverley team was led gladiator style by Chrissy Brown who appeared to relish wearing the captains arm band. Capping his first half performance with a great solo effort beating two players and blasting past the keeper.Although his goal scoring celebration raised a few eye brows.

Chrissy then put Owen Bailey through who sped onto the ball like a Lewis Hamilton off the grid placing the ball under the keeper. Owen then scored a second after the break to make it 3:0.

Stanningley responded scoring two goals through Tom Sheldon and Cameron Whalley. Despite applying the pressure Calverley Yellows held on to a famous victory. Even the soup sold out.
