Yarnbury only bowed to their illustrious opponents in the last play of the game to be edged out of winning and it is a credit to Yarnbury and captain Mick Pound he has faith in 17 year olds, particularly in the backs who ran the experienced Sandal side ragged at times only to be pegged back by their opponents experience in the pack led with distinction by ex-Yorkshire and Wakefield hooker Gary Lig the ex Sandal first team coach.

This game went try for try throughout 80 minutes and Yarnbury were leading 32-29 with 3 minutes to go to full time through some sparkling youthful back play with scrum half Alex Crowther, Steve Foster at centre and Alex Clark at full back all scoring running tries which out paced the Sandal veterans.Man off the match was Yarnbury's left winger Kieron Lyons of lightening pace and great balance who scored a brace.

The best was a jinx under the covering defence to touch down near the posts.

At five foot nothing he is a great prospect for the senior sides next season as are his try scoring colleagues
