Despite playing up hill and against a fierce wind Temple started well and pressed the Leeds City goal hard but lacked the final shot required, several players being caught in possession taking far too long to line up a shot.
With instinctive shooting Temple could have been 3 or more goals up in that first 15 minutes. Of the few shots taken, Danny Buck and Declan Isaac were both stopped by excellent saves from the Leeds City keeper.

Too much forward pressure left gaps in midfield and a defensive line too high up the pitch. Completely against the run of play Leeds City capitalised on these gaps and opened the scoring.
In quick succession a further 2 goals followed and then a fourth from a deserved penalty. With half-time approaching all looked
lost for Temple and some heads began to drop, but then, up popped a tricky Azzy Bell to open his personal goalscoring account with Temple and score a great goal.
Temple fired up again and although going into half-time 4 - 1 down quickly re-discovered the desire to play.
The second half opened with end to end play, Danny Buck having a shot blocked on the line at one end and Charlie Jenkin pulling off the most amazing save at the other end, tipping a fierce Leeds City shot over
the bar.
Alex Lambourne, drafted into the attack to increase fire-
power, created havoc in the Leeds City defence who struggled to pin down him, Danny Buck and Declan Isaac. An instinctive shot by Declan, from outside the box, once again proved that if you shoot you can
score.
Forward pressure again robbed the defensive area of players and frequently the two smallest guys on the field, Ryan McGregor and Calum
Drysdale, were left to beat the Leeds City attack on their own.
On one occasion Calum alone stood between the Temple goal and four attacking Leeds City players, which he handled very well indeed.
Sadly and despite Ryan and Calum's best efforts, Temple conceded a fifth goal through this lack of defensive cover. At the other end, a fine cross from Declan was met by Danny Buck who, first-touch and without any hesitation, fired in Temple's third goal from inside the 6 yard box.
This was quickly followed by Azzy Bell toe-poking a half chance through
a packed area into the net. Azzy almost made it a hat-trick, save for
a last ditch stop by a Leeds City defender on the goal-line.
Temple pressed for the equaliser but those gaps at the back again allowed in the Leeds City strikers to make the final score 6 - 4 in the dying seconds.
Having made much of the midfield and defensive gaps, when Temple keep a disciplined shape they control the game and when they lose that shape they lose the game, I have to say that all 11 players put in a massive, massive effort, by far the best this season. All should be congratulated.
