Jordan K powered through for Beeston's second try which Shane J converted.
But again, Rodley hit back.
Lewis B to the rescue – a brilliant kick into the corner for Bradley S to snaffle up.
The first half finished 16–12 in Beeston's favour.
Beeston came out of the traps as Lewis B went over for a try with his conversion shaving the wrong side of the post.
It was followed by another six point riposte from Rodley.
Step up Thomas B, an inspiration again, to stretch a slender lead.
Bang – another reply from the Rockets.
A stunning combination from Lewis B and Shane J, converted by Leon C, added six more points – at last a 10 point margin.
But the Rockets were not finished. Wave after wave of attacks were repulsed inches from the Broncos' line: first Reece I and Omar A stood firm; then Thomas B saved a certain try; then Nathan M felled an attacker with an impossible tackle; and to round off a heroic spell, Jordan K snared a sniper.
When eventually Rodley wheedled through for a last gasp try, it was too late asthe Broncos held out for a famous 34–30 victory.
This breathless account does not do justice to a fine team performance.
Aqeel G, Leon C and Jordan K were immense – rumbling through the oppositions line. Ryan M and Ryan B were always a threat. Charlie D was always in the thick of the action. Josh S was always a support. Harkan K put his shoulder to the wheel.
