Yarnbury have been riddled with injuries and were missing seven first teamers and had the inexperienced pairing in the centres of scrum half Oliver Cashman and returnee colt Tom Cliffe back from University whilst back rowers Ian Moule and Wayne Butterfield were drafted into the second row.
The game started with Yarnbury on the front foot and and Full Back Simon Tabb slotting over a penalty for the Moortown forwards going over the top at a ruck.As the half went on the Moortown backs began to prob gaps around the field and stand off Jack Lewis worked a good opening on the blind side for the first try but Andy Eastem made a hash of the conversion.
He was later substituted because of an ankle injury sustained on the bone hard pitch. This should have signalled for Yarnbury to take advantage of the change but they alowed Moortown to take the initiative through their forwards with good interplay between Derrick Pryce and Steven Thomas with Yarnbury's James Barrett and Ian Moule slowing up their charge.
Graham Maycock briefly put Yarnbury ahead with a well worked backs move but Christian Lim showed his pace in the outside centre slot to carve open the Yarnbury defense to score near half time.
In the second half further tries and a penalty secured a good win for Moortown through winger Luke Cooper and man of the match Christian Lim who scored with an arching run through the Yarnbury defense.
Simon Tabb replied with two penalties for Yarnbury but the honours were Moortown's in this return fixture but Yarnbury stand off Ian Bartlett tried manfully with varied probing kicks and runs to open up the Moortown defence.
