Shipley lying second on the league , a place above Calverley, have had a good season. But after Calverleys win over Prospect last week confidence was high.

The game started of very tight with both sides making few chances. But Calverley took the lead on the 8th minute when George Taylor was put through on goal to smash the ball past the keeper.

The crowd went wild. No more chances were created and Calverley went into half time 1-0 up. But you always felt that the next goal would be the most important.

Calverley then made wholesale changes at half time which changed the whole complextion of the game. Shipley came out for the second half demonstrating why they are known as the Tigers scoring three goals in quick succession.

This knocked the wind out of Calverleys sails and despite further changes and some valliant effort Calverley failed to respond.

When the final whistle went all the players looked shattered as they came of the pitch.

Steve Thompson, the Calverley manager, will now have to use all his experience to lift the players for the next match.
