Match report: Allerton Bywater v Methley Royals
Methley Royals, rebuilding following a spell in which players have been unavailable for a bewildering number of reasons, performed creditably in a 46-26 defeat at Allerton Bywater.

The Royals, who have been actively recruiting to get through the injury crisis, had four men on debut and one making only his second appearance, with another returning to action after being sidelined since March.

Second-row Simon Wassell backed up an impressive display the previous week against Queensbury with another outstanding performance, while stand-off Adam Jarvis bagged a try on his debut.
Prop Adam Shaw also shone in his first outing for the club, while Dan Hornby and Craig Winn were highly effective off the bench.
So was Simon Dickinson who last played, against Middleton, six months ago.
Reece Willshaw, switched from hooker to scrum-half in a reshuffled side, worked hard throughout and was rewarded with a try and three goals. Loose forward James Baxter, prop Gareth Grant-Mills and winger Matty Baker claimed the remaining touchdowns in a display in which substitute Luke Pickering was near-faultless.
So was fullback Ben Tunningley, who had fine support from threequarters Carl Garman, Thomas Kaye and Danny Snowden.

Matty Carriss-Wright, drafted in at hooker, was incisive, while second row Richard Scott was prominent in attack and defence.
Rob Smiley scored a hat-trick for Allerton Bywater, and James Firth crossed twice. There were tries for Adam Bause and Neil Firth, and Daniel Leaf (4) and Daniel White (3) landed goals.
Methley now turn their attention to the Castleford & Featherstone ARL's David Poulter Open Cup and a second round home tie on Saturday, October 3, with local rivals Castleford Panthers.
The match will be played at Willowbridge, with a 2.30pm kick off.
Meanwhile, tickets at 5 are still available for the Methley reunion at the Rose & Crown on Saturday 17 October (8.00pm). Further information is available from Secretary Simon Adamson on 077 3608 6238, or Phil Hodgson (077 8698 0909).
