The Royals were left kicking their heels last Saturday when scheduled opponents Sherburn were given a tie in the Selby ARL P&S Engineering Cup, but the enforced rest will have given a number of players the chance to recover from minor injuries.

Methley are continuing to target a second successive title after having been promoted as champions last time from Unison Division Four and, with games in hand on those above them, are well-placed for a serious challenge.

Prop Dean Tucker will be available for selection after suspension, and

it is hoped that fellow front-row man Jon Laidler will have recovered from a knee injury.

Another front-row man, Luke Pickering, has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a long-standing foot problem, but loose forward or stand-off Lee Starbuck hopes to have recovered from illness before the campaign comes to a close.

Methley, meanwhile, are looking for novice or former players for their `Workshops' team, which will be taking part in the Castleford & Featherstone ARL's Edgar Hanson Cup in June.
