Westwood had shown the value of playing to the whistle in taking their lead through Indeerpal Shergil after a seemingly lost cause had been chased down by the byline and whipped back into the centre for the unmarked forward.
Calverley refused to lie down though and after Lewis Waddington and Ryan Hammerton had gone close, Davis made the pressure tell with his unusual equaliser.
Tommy Reynolds' header, from Harris Thompson's through ball, almost produced the winner but the home keeper was equal to it.
Man of the match: Danny Taylor.

A muscular performance, capped by two goals from the sparky Owen Bailey, gave Calverley a deserved victory.
After holding the home side playing up the slope, Calverley cut loose after the break to take the points.
A superb strike into the bottom right-hand corner from the hard-tackling Chris Brown, after Immad Akram had been denied by a fine save, opened Calverley's account.
Matthew Hodges was forced into action at the other end, produced a fine tip-over to keep Calverley in front as Westwood enjoyed their best period of the match. But with Harrison Marcus commanding the defence the visitors absorbed the pressure and then bolted upfield for Bailey to finish expertly.
Bailey showed his poacher's instincts shortly afterwards following up a rasping shot by Jack Harvey which the keeper could not hold to make it 3-0.
Westwood did grab a consolation goal near the end, albeit with Calverley a man short as Ben Storr was down with a back injury, but it made no difference to the outcome.
Man of the match: Harrison Marcus.
