A number of clubs are thought to have looked at Kandol, but the 29-year-old has decided to take up Albacete's offer of a one-year deal.
Kandol had been out of favour at Elland Road for the best part of two
seasons, having been signed for 200,000 by former boss Dennis Wise from Barnet and spent loan spells with Millwall and Charlton in the 2008-09 campaign.
He joined Leeds permanently in January 2007 and went on to make 77 appearances for the Whites, scoring 16 goals.
Meanwhile, rock-solid goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is in the running for the npower Championship player of the month for August.
Schmeichel joined Leeds from Notts County in the summer and has quickly becoming a crowd favourite following some splendid performances between the posts.
The talented custodian faces competition from Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd, Millwall defender Paul Robinson and mercurial QPR ace Adel Taarabt for the award, which will be announced on Thursday.
