Leeds United: Capaldi poised for his debut

International left-back Tony Capaldi could be handed his Leeds United debut at Kettering tomorrow (1.45pm).

The Cardiff and Northern Ireland loan ace, who will be with United until January 4, may be handed a televised baptism at Rockingham Road with left-sided players Andrew Hughes, Ben Parker and Bradley Johnson all injured – with Aidy White the only other first-team player with left-back experience.

Still on the crocked list for United are skipper Richard Naylor and Shane Higgs, although boss Grayson is ruling out Luciano Becchio being involved after playing 90 minutes for the reserves on Wednesday, along with Jason Crowe.

Argentine striker Becchio, who scored in the 2-1 win at Lincoln, has been out of the first-team fray since October 4 when he damaged ankle ligaments in the goalless draw with Charlton at Elland Road.

On the prospects of Becchio and Crowe featuring, Grayson said: "They will be in and around the 18 (travelling party).

"We'll see where we are at with certain individuals on whether they are fit or not today."

Sam Vokes and Max Gradel are ineligible for United under the terms of their loan deals.

Kettering's plans have been boosted by the arrival of four players ahead of the emergency loan deadline and three have been granted permission to play.

They include MK Dons duo Ritchie Partridge – who started his career at Liverpool – and Sol Davis, with young Tranmere striker Kithson Bain also eligible for the Poppies, along with loan winger Marcus Kelly, who joined at the start of the week.
