Leeds rubbish Becchio 'no new contract' claims
Leeds United have rejected claims that Luciano Becchio will not be offered a new contract at Elland Road, describing the suggestion as "completely untrue".
Newspaper reports this morning stated that Becchio was set to leave United after failing to negotiate an extension to his deal, which is due to expire in 12 months' time.
But United chief executive Shaun Harvey said the club were intent on reaching a fresh agreement with the Argentinian striker and had not informed him that his existing contract would be his last.
Harvey told the YEP: "The story's completely untrue. We're committed to trying to keep him at the club."
