Posts 76 & 77 - Thanks for your support guys - It does confuse me that in reality most of our squad would find homes elsewhere.... So what is it about ER they cant handle? Is it the expectation?, or is that that most of them think that been associated with LUFC they have somehow reached their Pinnacle? Bates as i said, is the issue - But dont let that detract from the simple truth that some of these players are in above their heads...As for new manager - I think we could employ anyone,,, as long as they can instill self belief, pride and passion, and have the ability to make sure the players show this game in, game out.... Stop me if i am wrong, but these qualities are requirement of ANY manager in ANY profession... . Also, all the managers that have been linked - Most have been sacked for NON ACHIEVEMENT - so why do we all think they will be the saviour of ER - The same names get touted for ALL the top jobs...... Youth and ambition is the only way to go in my view - Unless we can afford Mourinho of course !!!! - Stick together and we WILL beat the cancer within..... Divided he wins, and MOCKS us all !!! MOT

I think Neil Warnock would be a good acquisition as the next manager, but he doesn't like Leeds anyhow, so that's a no go. Mick McCarthy? Possibly... Neil RedFearn? Not for me.... Does it really matter who we get as manager anyways?... NO... Nothing can be done with the shower of sh*t we have and no matter how experienced a manager is or how damn good he is, he can't perform miracles... MASTERBATES!! Its time for you to leave, you white haired geriatric chelsea scum... Time for us to get a REAL chairman.. One that is going to back us to the hilt... At least Peter Ridsdale backed us, despite getting us into the sh*t to start with; maybe he's learned a valuable lesson.. Then again, I don't know...

Gingerstreak: well said, nobody wants to go back to lg1 but for the greater good it would be worth the pain if we could relinquish our connections with Bates. Send ALL the lumber back to thier parent clubs and get shot of any other melingerers hanging about the place. I'd keep Snodders, Clayton, McCormack, probably Bechio and Somme, plus a few of the new guys who haven't had thier chance yet. But a Fresh start is definately whats needed. Now is the perfect time.....RE mgr: I personally think its time for the club to act and forget the NR option. The way i see it is we're not in a position to take gambles. They should go get the man who CAN do the job not wait and try a few cheap options. There;s no time like the present, even with promotionplayoff places gone we as a club need to see something happen for the good. God only knows how we're going to get rid of Bates though

First of all it seems i am wasting my time posting comments. all i get is PENDING MODERATION whatever that means. so cut to the chase, i back what GINGERSTREAK 62 SAYS. THE TEAM THE MANAGEMENT AND SADLEY REDFEARN ALONG WITH THE VILLAGE IDIOT BATES ARE SIMPLY A WASTE OF SPACE, WHAT DECENT MANAGER FANCIES THIS LOT

72 count of monte fisto --- i agree it is the seemingly lack of progress it seems on all fronts which is frustrating both on and off the field. i thought beckford was worth keeping and he left for free, disappointing but as players its a free country but we should not let our best players leave for free. gradel was home sick(still money to come from the deal i believe). can't blame howson and others bettering themselves(especially salary wise). we shall just have to keep the faith !! like alot of other clubs which have slipped down the leagues.

lets be fair who ever takes controll the footballing wont change the buying and selling of players wont change and the incoming manager will inheit a worse squad than the one that got u promoted form the first division division we have seen assets go with beckford ,gradle, killkenny, johnson, howson leave the club to be replaced with free sihnings and loan players andreas townsend is a sub send him back to totenham and sighn a player on loan who will make the team micheal brown not good enough the finnisg midfielder not good enough now delph was taken of injured and parent club saying they dont think he will extend the loan past the portsmouth game yes bates may go on about the size of the squad but lets face it majority of the squad are not even good enough for the first team

69 Huttbob, excellent points but its the lack of progress on ALL of these points that has the fans in uproar not the lack of spending £60m on new players. 1 - Do we own the ground - NO 2 - Do we own Thorpe Arch - NO 3 - Are we investing in future player development - NO we are trying to nick our youth coach to be a cheap manager & we sell anyone who looks promising Garbutt the 2 to City etc 4 - Do we have competitive pricing structures - NO its almost £200 more for my season ticket & 4 months earlier than the local club (Hull) where I now live in Beverley & the pricing for kids is mental (no other way to describe it). 5 - Does the club try to engage its fans - NO it would be hard to develop a strategy which more alienates the fans than we have, sending me a badge every year doesn't wipe away the contempt I am treated with by stewards, the police, ticket office staff, Bates etc etc 6 - Does the club have a coherent strategy of developing young players, tieing them up on decent contracts and selling only to re-invest - NO look at Aidy White he is going to leave this summer because his contract has run down. In my opinion its not a billionaire owner we need just a new blueprint for how the club is run (with or without Bates) based on a solid financial footing but with customers being first at all times. Instead we have an owner who insults & mocks the fans, fleeces every penny he can. A pint is now £3.50 in the pavilion last year it was £3.00, the programme costs more than a house in Barnsley & club shop prices are at Abercrombie levels. He controls all media from the club & allows no dissent & we have no visilbility of anything the clubs accounts are the barest minimum he can legally get away with & all transactions are undisclosed. Until this season I thought Bates was doing a steady job but boy has he lost the plot this year, EVERY decision is the opposite of what most of the fans wanted. Everyone gets things wrong but to be this bad at everything must surely ring alarm bells even with his most vocal of fans. I think Bates has gone too far to recover with most fans, personally I don't care one who owns the club so long as they seem to have its best interests at heart, I can't honestly say I think Ken is that man anymore we need change and if he isn't going to be it from within it must come from without (that's us)

Looking at the vote here so far, with the overwhelming number of fans against installing NR on a permanent basis. Wouldn't it be just like our beloved chairman to hack us off even more and go entirely against our wishes and just do that. MOT!!

Why are Leeds messing about, Get Mcarthy in now or if not then get Warnock in, but even they will need more than 3 games to sort out 1 of the worst Leeds squads I have ever seen.

football is all about opinions and every fan wants his side to do well, its in the blood. is throwing money at the club the answer -i dont think so. look at doughty(rip) at forest-put in millions and look where they are. leceister spent big time, look where they are. glasgow rangers lived the dream(and some dodgy deals) and it hasn't helped them much. leeds lived the dream and spent millions on players and the club nearly went out of business. pompey-what a shambles there. football at present is unsustainable in many cases as expenditure especially on players is more than the club's income. to get leeds into the PL we need to produce out own players like we always did, we then need to buy back thorpe arch and the ground for starters. prices are a little high and should be reduced to encourage higher gates and more support for the team(not very good i must say). do people really think there is someone out there with millions and millions to put into leeds-the answer is no. we aren't like man city, chelsea mega rich or are we ever likely to be. its going to be a slow build up to ever get back into the PL and stay there. too slow for my liking. like bates says if there are people who want to invest -come along and talk and show the money ! don't seem to many about with the cash or the interest ! i used to be a season ticket holder for 10 years ( left home at 8am and got back home at 8pm for a home game !) as well as going to 90% of away matches so i am as gutted as all fans to see us as we are now and i blame Ribsdale,O'Leary and the management at the time for gambling away Leeds future with some really crap deals. i.e Seth Johnson on £36,000 a week in those days ! etc
