its one of two options for me. with it being either snodz or the one we,ve not yet signed. hopefully someone in the mold of a kavanagh or redfearn, (from their playing days obviously). i can think of a few but its all about the availability etc. eg. graham dorrans. i think we should think big to make it big. but not ridsdale big though :) derry short term to get us ashore so to speak.

@34. snoddy in the hole!!!!! can't wait myself, we got a lot of joy out of it on the occations Howson was allowed to do it. RS is going to give the opposition some real headaches from now on.

Of our existing personnel, Snoddy is the obvious candidate. For me though, he may be playing too high up the park to truly exert a captain's influence over the team. Don't get me wrong, he's been carrying us for weeks but I'd just be a little concerned that the extra responsibility might weigh heavy on him. In terms of experience, Brown or O'Brien would seem to be good choices but, as others have said, your captain should be first name on the team sheet and neither of those two have been regular starters , whether through form, fitness or both. NW will have his own ideas so who knows. I actually advocated Lonners as captain when Jonny left, but it hasn't really worked out. And is that dip in form merely a coincidence? A tricky one all round, in Warnock we trust. MOT!!!

Snody is the obvious choice but myself would give it to Clayton, he bosses the mid when on form, giving him the arm band would drive him on more, snody give the 110% already, I can't wait to see him operate his free roll, he'll be tearing teams apart MOT

Certainly Snoddy has the right attitude commitment-wise and experience, there's no doubting his tactical awareness, seniority and drive. On reflection i think most of you are right, as it stands now I would award it to Snoddy and not Lonners as i previously said. To me the one who wears the armband should be someone who brings some cohesion to the team, a voice of the manager and a figure the rest of the team respect and are willing to take instruction from, I just don't believe though that RS is positionally right for it all our issues are behind him on the pitch and as stated before i believe a CB is idealy what we need as capt. But yeh i would give it to himat the moment, on merit AND as a token of appreciation, i'm sure he'd view it as an honour and take the role seriously. He is at the very least better placed and more influencial than the keeper.

ROBERT SNODGRASS WOULD BE MY CAPTAIN; BEST PLAYER, AND IT MIGHT MAKE HIM THINK BEFORE DOING A JONNY HOWSON ON US..

Never been a fan of keepers being captain, you have to be out and about shouting at players which is why I've always liked the idea of a central mid fielder. There is talk of letting Snodgrass roam freely rather than an out and out winger,so maybe! My money's on a new player, but loan players good enough to captain Leeds,..... interesting!

The Captain has to go to the first name on the teamsheet so step forward Robert Snodgrass. Who knows this might also persuade hime to stay with us in the summer if we dont get promoted this season?

I'm not sure we have many natural leaders at the moment, so probably someone Warnock brings in IMHO.

Robert would like to be captain, and was a little annoyed when he was overlooked last time . He is the longest serving player. Simon didnt wont to overburden him with it. Lonergens form has not been as good since he was given the role.

Leeds clearly do not currently have a natural "leader of men". For a long time, we have needed to buy a captain. This should be someone well respected and a player who can add some much needed quality to the squad. I also feel that this needs to be a central defender, as this position has been sadly lacking in ability for as long as we care to remember.

Make the captain to Snodgrass!!! He is our best player and it might convince him to sign another contract. Would be well gutted if he was to leave, we need to build a team round him, Clayton, Lees, White, Lonergan and Mccormack. I know the armband didn't convince Howson to stay with us but Snoddy loves the club and I think he would stay with us if we start going in the right direction under Mr Warnock.
