Robinson: I've no regrets joining United
New man Andy Robinson can't wait for his United adventure to begin – and insists he has no regrets at joining Leeds despite the club's failure to win promotion to the Championship.
The attacking midfielder, who fired 10 goals as Swansea strolled to the League One title last term, swapped South Wales for United just days before the Whites' heartbreaking League One play-off loss to Doncaster Rovers.
And while his former team-mates will be taking on the likes of Birmingham, Wolves, Derby and Sheffield United next term, Robinson and United remain marooned in football's third tier.
But the Scouser, named in the PFA League One Team of the Year in 2008 and 2006, remains happy at his decision.
Fully refreshed and raring to go after a lengthy close season, he said: "Obviously, Leeds got to the play-off final and I was keeping my fingers crossed that the boys would win.
"It wasn't to be, but it's not put me off.
"I'm looking forward to playing for what is a massive club with a great fanbase and I'm really looking forward to playing in front of a packed stadium.
"I haven't played at Elland Road yet, so I can't wait for that and to show the fans what I can do."
Robinson, afforded an extended break with his playing duties ending at Swansea at the start of May while his new colleagues have had just under six weeks off, added: "I've had longer off than normal, because of my situation with Leeds coming back a bit later than Swansea.
"I'm just looking forward to getting stuck in now. I've done some bits of training already for the past week-and-a-half and am raring to go.
"I don't know any of the lads. I'm the new kid and it'll be like my first day at school, but I'm really looking forward to it.
"I believe I'll also bring a little bit of character into the dressing room and I just want to get stuck in – on and off the field – and be part of Leeds United."
United begin pre-season training this Friday.
