Wigan Athletic are the latest club to be linked with Leeds United’s leading scorer, Ross McCormack.

The 12-goal striker is rumoured to have attended Monday night’s Premier League match between Wigan and Manchester City and the DW Stadium, prompting speculation that Latics boss Roberto Martinez is lining up a bid for him.

McCormack, a Scotland international with 18 months remaining on his deal at Elland Road, has already been linked with Wolves this season.

Grayson has not commented on McCormack specifically but he said: “We’ve always said that anyone leaving will go on our terms, not anybody else’s.”

Re Howson: Why does the "undisclosed fee" amount to £2m? Norwich can wait to the end of the season and pay nothing. He will not be fit to play for months so there is no point in forking out money. Leeds will be happy just to save paying his wages. Re McCormack, Grayson clearly does not rate him. He was given a 3 year contract and will have started less than 30% of games. He is hardly a regular at Leeds. We are stuck with Paynter so Grayson will end up playing him.

Hasnt it been exciting being a Leeds United fan !!!! all season some quarters of leeds fans saying that Howson needs to be dropped and the team we have now wont get promoted !! but when so called leeds united fan Howson didnt want to sign a new contract everybody blames the managment !!! if certain players are not fully commited with playing or fighting to wear our belovered LU football shirt I believe that we after grant there wishes and get rid and hopefully buy players who want to give us hundred percent week in and week out !!! we know SG never reveals his targets my only hope is he gets them !!! Whether or not we think losing Howson is a good or bad thing we all have an equally valid opinion on that. What I think we are ALL in agreement on, is the need to re-invest the FULL amount - if not more - on replacements for any departing first-teamers, otherwise it's difficult to see us improving enough to get out of this league. Bates will stand and fall on this (although of course HE won't resign and we can't sack HIM), Leeds fans may turn up religiously and fork out eye-watering money to watch our team, buy the merch etc, but we are not so dumb that we can't see who comes in - if anyone - in the coming weeks. MOT

Ken bates is again getting the thick end here as per but what about our captain fantastic who has been invisible this season now leaves for £2 million rather than go on a free at end of season A good bit of business for me if selling him keeps snodgrass and McCormack Becchio next to go please but need to replace

We'll have to face facts, we are just a feeder club. Who's next? Clayton andor Lees to Bolton?

My (and my wife’s) season ticket renewal papers arrived this morning – that’s £1,032 that we can’t afford but supporting Leeds is a hard habit to break. Right now i can’t face paying so i’ll sleep on it for a few days. I know i’m not the only lifelong fan who’s been driven to this heart breaking dilemma. At the end of the day, we the fans will still be supporting our team long after Bates has gone (knowing our luck, he’ll live to be a hundred!), but for sake of our Club let’s stand up & be counted and, if nothing else, remind the football world what a horrible little man Kenneth William Bates really is. Love Leeds, Hate Bates.

I really feel for the fans and grayson as he is trying his best with no help at all from bates ...... If we do not see the 2m from howson spent on players this month i really fear massive protest will be on there way at ER ..... i keep the faith as i have renewed my season tickt in worser situations but if Bates wants us promoted this season he has a strange way of showing it .... we could easily loose snoddy, clayton, white, bechio and ross ..... we badly need a new owner with a plan

I renewed my season ticket online and I am kicking myself that I did. What a collapse after the promise shown last season. To say I am sick as a parrot is an understtement. THIS is what happens for not investing in players during the summer. I cannot take much more... seriously
