Leeds United v Huddersfield Town: Becchio fitness boost

Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio is back to full fitness after almost two months on the sidelines and could feature in Saturday's big Huddersfield Town clash.

The Argentinian appeared as a substitute at Boundary Park and scored United's second goal with virtually his first touch of the ball, staking his claim for a starting place during this weekend's West Yorkshire derby at Elland Road.

Simon Grayson said: "It's good to see Luciano back because he's had the best part of two months out. We managed to get him some football at the weekend (against Kettering Town) and again against Oldham, and the goal should give him a big boost.

"He's obviously going to be a little bit short of match practice because he'd only had one reserve game before this but he'll be pleased to have got his goal and I'm delighted for him."

Grayson has a plethora of strikers to choose from, though it is virtually certain that Beckford will be restored to Leeds' starting line-up for Saturday's derby after being rested in midweek.

Tresor Kandol was also available for the visit to Oldham having returned to training after what United described as "family issues", but he was not included in Grayson's 18-man squad at Boundary Park.
