Leeds United: Simon Grayson's interest in Warren Feeney cools
SIMON GRAYSON has ruled out making an immediate move for striking target Warren Feeney.
The Leeds United boss confirmed he has spoken to the Northern Ireland international and Cardiff City frontman, who started his career as a trainee at Elland Road.
But he said he has decided against making a move for Feeney at this current time.
Reports have circulated that the deal had collapsed, amid renewed interest from SPL outfit Hearts, although the cash-strapped Edinburgh outfit have seemingly now dropped out of the race to sign the 28-year-old.
And while a resurrection of the transfer of Feeney to Leeds seems unlikely, Grayson has hinted that circumstances could still change.
He said: "I've spoken to the player (Feeney), but I've spoken to about 10 or 15 others as well.
"But as it stands, at this moment in time, we're not doing anything about it.
"Time will progress to see if we do anything.
"I've spoken to a lot of players over the summer and he's one of them, but as we understand at the moment, he won't be a Leeds United player."
Norwich City, Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town and Grimsby Town have also been linked with the striker, who spent a successful loan spell at SPL side Dundee United last term.
Capped 31 times by his country, Feeney was on the books at United from 1998 to 2001, without actually playing a first-team game.
