United beat off interest from a host of other clubs to land the in-demand 20-year-old, who turned down the offer of a double-your-money deal at Livingston to pursue a career south of the border.

Snodgrass' was unavailable for Saturday's game at Barnet, while the club awaited clearance.

Tresor Kandol, on his road back to full fitness following a virus – is not expected to feature tonight and is set to continue his comeback in Wednesday's reserve clash at Hereford-based non-league outfit Pegasus Juniors.

The club will need international clearance if they are to field Argentinian striker Luciano Becchio against the Quakers tonight, with McAllister to make a decision on the forward's future shortly – with United strongly tipped to land him.

The 24-year-old trialist, who fired 28 goals for Spanish outfit Merida last term, impressed in the weekend victory at Underhill, earning rich praise from McAllister.

The Whites boss has also revealed he is keen to sign free agent Paul Telfer on a permanent basis, with the utility man, 36, catching the eye since arriving on trial.

McAllister said: "Paul is a superb professional and he is a player I would like to bring in if possible."

And on Becchio's future, he added: "A decision will be made very quickly. I think he brings us something."

Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Weston has joined SPL side Hibernian on trial.

Weston will spend the next few days training with Hibs as he looks to secure a move to Easter Road.

The 21-year-old is well down the pecking order at Elland Road and does not figure in boss Gary McAllister's long-term plans.
