LEEDS UNITED: Kids are up for the cup
Leeds United's Under-18 squad will begin their FA Youth Cup campaign at Chester City this evening.
Neil Thompson's side were handed a difficult away tie in the first round of the competition and Leeds will secure another trip, to either Leicestershire club Oadby Town or Hinckley United, in round two if they win tonight.
The fixture is a repeat of the Carling Cup first-round clash staged between the two Football League clubs in August, a game which United won 5-2 courtesy of a hat-trick from Jermaine Beckford, but Leeds are expected to be without several of their more experienced junior players this evening.
A number of the club's youth-team members are currently on loan with other teams, including Nathan Cartman and Chris Ovington, and the promotion of Fabian Delph and Aidan White to United's senior squad this season is also likely to see them omitted from the FA Youth Cup campaign.
This evening's clash at the Deva Stadium kicks off at 7pm with tickets priced at 3 for adults and 1 for concessions.
