Casper Ankergren: A test of concentration as much as anything for the largely-underemployed Dane. Spilled a cross in the first half after colliding with Naylor, but made a smart save to deny Taylor...6/10

Leigh Bromby: Uncomfortable for a few minutes after suffering an early knee injury, but the versatile defender regained his composure, despite having his hands full with Taylor...6/10

Patrick Kisnorbo: The bandaged Aussie was a pillar of strength at the back, with his only slippery moment coming when robbed by Colbeck in the first half...7/10

Richard Naylor: Ditto Kisnorbo, without the bandage. Given relatively few problems by the Oldham attack and coped comfortably with Parker and Smalley...7/10

Andy Hughes: Produced a hard-working and competent shift and played his part with his colleagues in recording a clean sheet...7/10

Robert Snodgrass: Given license to support Beckford, the Scot showed flashes of his prodigious talent without being at his best. A day for the water carriers rather than the artisans...6/10

Michael Doyle: The Irishman grafted in the inhospitable conditions, while being outshone creatively by Kilkenny and Howson. Claimed a decidedly pragmatic booking late on for time-wasting...6/10

Jonathan Howson: Kept going for the full 90 minutes on Saturday and put in an energetic shift, with the gloss arriving by virtue of his cracking first-half strike...7/10

Neil Kilkenny: Excelled on his return to the starting line-up and carried on from where he left off against Yeovil, particularly in the first half when most of United's good work came through him...7/10

Bradley Johnson: Handed an attacking brief, Johnson went close with a first-half chance and switched flanks regularly with Snodgrass. Not a vintage performance, but played his part for the team...6/10

Jermaine Beckford: Forced to do battle with cruiserweights Hazell and Gregan, who probably weren't short of a word or two, the top gun had a wholly different afternoon to the previous Saturday, but adhered to the team ethic and kept his cool...6/10

Substitutes:

Mike Grella (for Beckford 86)...7/10

Aidan White (for Doyle 90)...6/10

Not used: Alan Martin, David Prutton, Lubomir Michalik, Andy Robinson, Enoch Showunmi.
