Leeds United: A Bristol breeze! - Gray
Given everything on Saturday, with Bristol City having two players sent off, it was a game we should have won, but the manner how we did it, in the end, was pleasing.
It was obviously good for Neil Redfearn. He’s been in the game a long time and has seen a lot happen and he will have just got on with the job this week and concentrated on setting the team up for Bristol.
I was pleased for Neil regarding the victory, as it’s never easy when clubs lose a manager.
He’s employed by the club and knew what he needed to do and we’ll see where he takes it.
He’s done a professional job and you can’t ask for anything more than three goals and three points away from home.

Managers and coaching staff may come and go, but players survive and players are there to play football and it was a good end to the week for Neil and the club.
Looking at the match at Ashton Gate, it was another game and yet another sending-off against us. Two even!
What an amazing stat eh...Five players sent off against us in the past five league games! I’ve never heard of anything like that before...
Looking at the sendings-off, I think the second one was a bit harsh as I didn’t think Yannick Bolaise meant to foul Adam Smith. He seemed to just cut across him.
The referee deemed it was a free-kick, but I thought it was a bit harsh to give him a second yellow card.
There was no doubt about the first sending-off, though, with James Wilson just catching Ross McCormack as he was running through on goal with the defender getting caught in a bad position.
It was a good performance in the second half, although you have to consider we were playing against nine men for a long period of time.
But the players did what they needed to do and it was good to see our three main attacking threats scoring.
In the second half, we took control of the game and the good thing for me, especially in the last half-hour when they were playing with nine men, was that we made the pitch big and got balls out wide.
It gave the young full-back, Smith, the chance to get in the game and I thought he did well. He looked good going forward.
Looking at the first half, I thought Bristol were the better team and the only shot on goal ended up being a goal!
But I’ve got to say Robert Snodgrass took his goal terrifically well; you’d back him at the minute to put that sort of chance away when he’s in that position.
When we got on top, Bristol couldn’t handle Robert. We’ve said all along how he is so important to the side and he’s a class act.
Even in the first half, when we weren’t in the game really, when we got the ball to him, we looked as if we might just do something.
McCormack also had a good game and his goalscoring record this year is looking very decent. He’s got 15 league goals now, which is a lot at this stage of the season.
Don’t forget, Ross has been left out of the side for a while this season as well and he was probably a bit disgruntled. But overall, you cannot say anything other than he’s having a great season and I’m pleased for him.
Fair play to Andy Lonergan as well. I thought he made a couple of good saves, especially in the first half and a good save to stop a header when it was 2-0 to us.
If they had scored then, it could have made it a bit tricky.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 08:48 PMEddie Grey don't half talk some s??t between writing in the papers and commentating Radio Bates. He must use up some amount of toilet paper. LUFC were lucky having to play only 9 men this drag ar#e brigade have no chance have being promoted. Until Bates buys decent players which he won't because he will have to start telling the truth about the true owners of LUFC are and he will not do that.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 09:34 AMConspiracy theory - funny that Antic's agent has taken down the Leeds United section in his wilipedia page from yesterday. It either means he definitely hasn't got it and wont be interviewed or the news controllers at the club objected to any mention - as they do

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 09:30 AMLandrover - can we afford Antic? How much money do these guys need - with his CV he isn't short of a bob or two - he wants to get into English football which is where the serious action is for any ambitious manager. I doubt if money will be an issue - we've got the dosh IF the board are persuaded he's the best man available. It would be a bold and imaginative appointment - something LUFC does? Its got to be better than the usual championship merry-go-round of dullards: Davies, Jones, Curbishley, Clough [unfinished business - you've got to laugh!] even Colin... maybe its time the club showed some ambition as we've all been screaming for? I don't know anymore than anyone else but we'll find out soon....MOT

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 09:21 PMTHE REAL TEST WILL COME THIS WEEKEND AT HOME TO BRIGHTON. LEEDS SEASON WILL BE DETERMINED ON SATURDAY. IF WE WIN, WE'RE BACK IN THE GAME WITH AN EXCELLENT CHANCE OF MAKING THE PLAY-OFFS. IF WE DON'T WIN, THEN I'M AFRAID NEXT SEASON WILL HAVE TO DO.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 07:53 PMGood result but still think we,ll miss out on play offs as centre backs not good enough in my opinion and we will still concede too many.As for next manager who knows, but i do think we are looking at next season and transfer dealings both in and out to give us a chance next time.Would love to be wrong though.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 07:04 PMAllWhitenow, yep Smith did look the biz, Fab is class and always was and we have a few less 'square pegs in round holes'. I've always maintained, that we have some good players, it was the lack of team work, graft and nous that was lacking. Any team, it matters not what level they play at, or who their opposition is, they need coaching to play to a set team structure, to play to a pattern or formation if you like - Grayson [bless him] never had a clue and his Lieutenants were equally bereft of footballing ideas, still less versed in teaching players basic footballing skills, 'coaching' for them meant a trip to Brid'. Now, even after one game, some of the doubts have been shaken off, it's like a weight has been removed from their backs and you could tell they played more like the season was kicking off. MOT come on LEEDS.

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 06:14 PMAllwhitenow that is interesting and upbeat but can we afford him? He may just be overqualified for Championship football but the message it would send to prospective transfer targets is that our club means business.MOT!

Monday, February 6, 2012 at 03:11 PMOn Saturday the Leeds United Supporters Trust is helping to facilitate the 'Campaign for change' march. The march will make it's way from Leeds City Square to Elland Road and begins at 12pm. You can see details of the route by clicking here. Again we encourage all members who support our recent vision statement to come along to the march and show support.  We would also encourage all current L.U.S.T members to help us spread the word about the meeting, march and new vision and to invite their fellow Leeds fans to become members of the Trust.
