Leeds United are being strongly linked with a move for versatile Coventry City defender Richard Keogh.
The Irishman, 25, City’s stand-out player in their relegation from the Championship last term, has been offered fresh terms but is stalling on signing a new deal.
Keogh has a year left on his Sky Blues contract, but City are bracing themselves for his exit following the departure of several other leading players.
Just yesterday, Keogh’s fellow defender and close friend Martin Crainie left the club after his contract expired – after rebuffing fresh terms.
And his decision is expected to have a bearing on the decision of Sky Blues player-of-the-season Keogh whether to sign the contract extension currently on the table.
Keogh has been the subject of rival interest from Championship clubs so far this close season with bids from Cardiff City and Bristol City both turned down by City, thought to value Keogh in the region of £1m.
