Leeds United: Rogers and Pugh placed on transfer list UPDATED

Leeds United have transfer-listed Danny Pugh and Robbie Rogers in a bid to raise funds for manager Neil Warnock.

Pugh and Rogers are being made available less than a year after moving to Elland Road, with Warnock working to secure the money needed to sign a new striker.

The Leeds boss admitted earlier this week that he was required to move players on before making further additions to his squad, and he is ready to sacrifice two of his midfielders to improve his attacking options.

Pugh came back to Leeds from Stoke City last September, rejoining the club he previously played for between 2004 and 2006. He was signed on loan initially but moved to United permanently in January for a £500,000 fee.

Rogers also arrived at Elland Road during the January transfer window, signed from MLS side Columbus Crew, but a bout of concussion and a broken bone in his ankle restricted the US international to four appearances last season.

Warnock, whose side begin their League Cup campaign at home to Shrewsbury Town tomorrow, said: “With the way the finances are here we’ve got to try and move one or two players on.

“With that in mind we’re going to circulate the names of Danny Pugh and Robbie Rogers and try to generate a bit of interest in them.”
