Leeds played tremendously on Saturday against Huddersfield and it’s been a terrific week for the football club.

We’ve had three victories, we are playing good stuff and the thing about it now is that all the players are performing well.

That’s the good thing for the football club, the midfield are firing on all cylinders and that helps everybody.

I thought David Norris and Michael Tonge were terrific on Saturday and they won the midfield battle quite comfortably.

That set us on the road to victory and consequently that gave Luciano Becchio chances.

That’s 14 goals for the season he’s got now but he’ll never have scored a better double for the club than he scored on Saturday.

His first goal was a superb left-footed strike in the far corner and his second was a great header.

He’ll also be delighted with the way the team is playing and the chances he is getting.

I’ve said for a while now that performances have got to be better and the performances have been great just recently.

Consequently we are getting results and individual players just now, they are performing probably near the best of their ability and the team is benefiting.

I don’t know what it is but maybe they have seen the light and realised that they have got to start playing.

We were slipping down the league but now everything is looking rosy.

I don’t think it’s just down to the takeover, though obviously that is great for the football club.

But I think with the players themselves, I think the penny has dropped with them.

Whatever they say, their early-season form was poor and as individuals they were poor.

But now you look at them and they are different players.

They are playing now how Neil Warnock expected them to play at the start of the season.

Full credit to the players because they have bounced back.

They were getting criticism and probably rightly so, because if you are not performing as a footballer then you expect criticism.

They were not picking up any points and they were slipping down the table but now they have beaten two teams who were flying high in the league and Huddersfield who were going well, although they have had a disappointing time of late.

But we have beaten Crystal Palace and Leicester and we have beaten them because we have played the better football.

That’s the thing about the club just now, they are passing the ball around superbly. They are actually getting it down and passing it instead of just knocking the long balls up to Becchio.

Luciano is benefiting from that and I must say that I thought Ross McCormack played well on Saturday as well.

He was good getting in behind and linking up the play.

It was also a great substitution by the manager as Jerome Thomas wasn’t having one of his better days on Saturday.

The manager brought him off and brought Ryan Hall on who played a hand in a couple of the goals with a couple of great crosses.

All in all, I think the fans will be delighted with what they are seeing just now as they are seeing some progress.

We have got nine points out of nine from our last three games and I don’t think anybody would have forecast that!

And there’s no reason why we can’t keep on going and keep on winning games.

The players have got that confidence about them, they are playing good football and they know they can score goals.

There was also a stat before the Huddersfield game on Saturday that the Leeds United line up between them had scored 26 goals and the Huddersfield line up had scored seven.

The closer it got to the game the more confident I became. When you actually look at the match, a two-goal difference between the sides, I thought that flattered Huddersfield a little bit to tell the truth.

Simon Grayson came on the radio station after the game and he said that Leeds were the better side. It’s quite simple.

To be fair to Huddersfield, they had a few injuries and a few suspensions and the goalkeeper made a bad blunder for the goal.

That got us back into the game but other than that I still thought we were the dominant team.

It’s not too late to get promoted, we just have to keep winning games and see where it takes us.

If we keep winning games we could be in the top six by the end of December and there’s no reason why we can’t. I think everybody at the club is looking onwards and upwards now and let’s go for it.

I know Neil has been moaning about the squad but if you look the squad on Saturday, Rodolph Austin wasn’t playing, Jason Pearce wasn’t playing and El-Hadji Diouf wasn’t playing.

It’s a strong squad when you look at it like that. We’ve got Derby next on Saturday and I think we’ll win there. They are all tough games but I think we will beat them.

It’s quite simple, the players are playing well and they look as if they can beat anybody in the division just now.
