LEEDS UNITED: Full-back Jason Crowe flies back to face Norwich City
Jason Crowe is set to give Leeds United manager Simon Grayson one positive piece of injury news this evening by declaring himself fit for the League One fixture against improving Norwich.
The right-back returned to training on Thursday after three weeks out with a hamstring injury.
Few of United's many injury doubts are expected to feature at Elland Road but Crowe's recovery has been quickened by an injection in his ankle after Leeds linked his niggling hamstring to a different injury suffered by the former Portsmouth defender in pre-season.
Crowe said: "I had an injection in my ankle last Monday. I took a knock against York in pre-season and that's where the problem stemmed from. It's a long story, but that was the cause of the hamstring playing up.
"I've done a lot of work with the physios and I trained (on Thursday) so hopefully I'll be in contention for the game."
Leigh Bromby has filled in as United's right-back in the absence of Crowe and the former Sheffield United man also appears to have regained full fitness after struggling with a foot infection earlier in the month.
Grayson, however, could be without long-standing doubts, midfielder Robert Snodgrass, defender Rui Marques and goalkeeper Shane Higgs while ankle ligament damage looks set to sideline Argentine striker Luciano Becchio.
Andy Robinson and Tresor Kandol are further worries, having picked up knocks in last week's reserve match against Hartlepool United.
Leeds, meanwhile, confirmed on Friday that left-back Ben Parker will miss the next three months of the season after undergoing surgery on a hip problem.
Grayson quipped: "I'd need the list of injuries in front of me to remember who's available and who isn't, but I don't get too down about it."
