Leeds United: Celebrity fans back promotion push
Come on, boys – that was today's rallying cry to Leeds United's promotion-chasing stars from their worldwide army of fans.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has been inundated with good luck messages for United since it became clear that victory over Bristol Rovers at Elland Road on Saturday would send them up to the Championship.

Emails, faxes and letters have poured into the YEP office from the far-flung likes of Spain, Norway, Austria, Qatar and Iran as well as the club's more traditional supporter strongholds.

And the overwhelming majority who have contacted us are convinced the Whites are set to get the result that will end their three-season stay in English football's third tier.

Celebrity fan Matt Bowman, singer with Leeds indie rockers the Pigeon Detectives, summed up the mood when he told the YEP: "This time they've GOT to do it!"
With a nod to United's agonising promotion near-misses of the last two
seasons, Matt said: "They obviously like taking things to the wire but I'm sure they will finally make it. Everyone in the city's right behind them."
Leeds City Council leader Coun Andrew Carter said: "We're all rooting for a big win on Saturday to put promotion beyond doubt.
"It will hopefully be a great day for the club and a great day for the city."
