Leeds United: Brown’s poised for fresh talks

Michael Brown in match action.

The future of Leeds United midfielder Michael Brown is set to become clearer this week, with boss Neil Warnock to speak to him after offering him fresh terms last month.

The 35-year-old, whose existing Whites contract runs out at the end of this month, has been offered a new one-year deal on significantly reduced terms and is currently mulling over the offer.

Brown is due to return from holiday this week, with Warnock planning to get in touch and discuss the veteran’s future.

Brown enjoyed an upturn in form under Warnock, his former manager at Sheffield United, with the Whites boss keen to keep hold of him for another season.

Speaking last month, Warnock said: “I’m sure he’ll have other offers to think about and consider, but he’s good to have around the place and he’s an

experienced player. He’s probably been one of the best players since I came in and he’s surprised a few people. I am looking to bring players in that area, but I’d like to think he will come back and surprise a few people again next season.”
