Brendan Ormsby: Tres bon! Kandol's proved me wrong

Hi Brendan, do you think Tresor Kandol is the best alternative if Luciano Becchio misses the Norwich game?

WORTLEY WHITE

Yes, Wortley White, I do. I've not Tresor's biggest fan, but I'll hold my hands up and say I was impressed by him in the Darlington game. He went off at half-time – I think he fell sick or something – but everything he did in the first half was good.

He was neat with his play, didn't give the ball away, won virtually every header and took his goal brilliantly and played well.

He looked a lot slimmer than Enoch Showunmi and fitter. To me, he's a better player than Showunmi anyway, his all-round game is a lot better.

I know I've slagged him off in the past, but he was good against Darlington.

He was virtually kicked out of the club and went out on loan to Millwall and Charlton last year and maybe he has nothing to lose.

I didn't rate him when he first came to Leeds, but he did quite well on loan and quite a few fans were saying we should get him back.

Attitude

But, when he was here – for the most part – he didn't seem to do anything and it was only when he went out on loan that he scored goals.

He can't lose at the minute. If he plays well, he can get himself a permanent move away from the club or push Simon Grayson to get into his plans and be involved a lot more.

If he can keep the attitude he showed the other week, that's what it's all about. Sometimes when you go out on loan a few times and come back, you can't be bothered.

But if he has changed his attitude and has knuckled down, who knows? I'll stick by what I've said before, but he proved me wrong in the last game and if Becchio isn't fit on Monday I'd have no hesitation in putting Kandol in.

Though I'm told we're trying to sign Sam Vokes on loan from Wolves so he may get the nod from Simon.
