It's time to focus back on the league after the exploits of the FA Cup last weekend. Following a poor Christmas we need to get back on a roll at home to Scunthorpe, a side we beat convincingly at Glanford Park back in October. I would expect the same team that started at Arsenal but maybe play Howson behind Becchio. I would certainly keep Bruce and O'Brien as the centre-backs. The game represents a wonderful opportunity for three points against a side in the bottom three.

Prediction: Leeds 3 Scunthorpe 1

Scunthorpe provide the filling between the FA Cup sandwich, more Corned Beef than Smoked Salmon, but the importance of this game can't be overestimated. One defeat in 14 or five without a win are the facts as the Iron visit Elland Road revelling in the underdog status which has brought the majority of their points this campaign. The strongest available 11 should take the field and, while the margin of victory is irrelevent, I would love to see Paynter and or McCormack open their United account.

Prediction: Leeds 4 Scunthorpe 1

Leeds get back to the bread and butter tomorrow against Scunthorpe and it's important the boys don't take their eye off the league like we did last season. Everyone will want to be in with a shout of playing against Arsenal, so it's up to them to show the gaffer they should be on that teamsheet. Leeds were convincing winners at Glanford Park and the Elland Road crowd will be expecting nothing less than three points against a team currently in the relegation zone.

Prediction: Leeds 3 Scunthorpe 1

It's back to the main agenda as United steel themselves for Championship action against Scunthorpe. The Iron have had a poor season after the departure of Nigel Adkins but, after a mixed bag of results over the festive period, the Whites desperately need to register their first three-point haul of 2011. Confidence should not be a problem after the heroics of the Emirates and wide men Snodgrass and Gradel, along with Howson, Becchio and Johnson look in top form.

Prediction: Leeds 2 Scunthorpe 0

Saturday will be the first chance to see whether the FA Cup curse has struck Simon Grayson and his team once again following the heroics at the Emirates. If we play anywhere near our best then Scunthorpe shouldn't pose too much of a threat although having picked up six of their seven wins on the road this season, Ian Baraclough's men will be looking to leave with at least a point. Becchio and Howson are due a goal and I think they will deliver on Saturday.

Prediction: Leeds 3 Scunthorpe 1
