Leeds United: Faye set for Whites deal
Amdy Faye could take a step towards a deal with Leeds United tonight when he turns out with the club's reserves.
The former Stoke City and Portsmouth midfielder has been training with United's first-team squad and will be given the chance to display his form and fitness in tonight's totesport.com League East Division match against Grimsby Town.

Faye is out of contract after reaching the end of his deal with Stoke and the Senegalese international has emerged as a possible answer to United's search for a defensive midfielder.
United invited him to link up with their senior squad towards the end of last week, shortly after the summer transfer deadline, and this evening's match is an opportunity for the 33-year-old to prove his worth to manager Simon Grayson.

Faye's status as a free agent would make him eligible to join Leeds outside the transfer window and Grayson is considering whether to take on a player with much experience of high-level English football and multiple international caps.

Grayson said: "We'll have a look at his fitness levels.
"Amdy trained with us at the back end of last week and again yesterday. He's got plenty of experience and he's done okay."
Faye was brought to England from French club Auxerre by Portsmouth in 2003, and made moves to Newcastle United and Charlton Athletic before Stoke signed him in the summer of 2008.
His first season at the Britannia Stadium saw Stoke retain their Premier League status, during a term in which Faye played 22 times, but he made only one appearance in a Carling Cup fixture last season and City did not attempt to retain him at the end of his deal.
The midfielder's arrival in Leeds could now create a fresh opportunity.
Honduran midfielder Ramon Nunez recently won a short-term contract with Leeds following a lengthy trial, and he might also receive a run-out at Blundell Park tonight (kick-off 7pm) with the Championship season due to resume on Saturday.
Leeds were casting their eye over another trialist, Calum Davenport, but the ex-West Ham United defender completed a period of training at Thorp Arch last week and is reported to have joined non-league club Wootton Blue Cross in an attempt to improve his fitness.
Davenport has not played in a competitive fixture since he was stabbed in both legs last year.
