On the second day of the competition, both Zanuni and Stapleton-Smith both fought in the Youth Men Individual Kumite (14-15 Years Category). This was their first time in the competition and they both excelled to reach the final.

The final was a closely-fought match and unfortunately there could only be one winner with Zanuni taking the gold medal and Stapleton-Smith the silver.

Also on the second day, Armstrong and Humphries competed in the (18-20 Years Category) Junior Men’s Individual Kumite and Three-Man Team Kumite event.

Armstrong put in sterling performances in the individual event and reached the semi-finals, only to be beaten by a strong Russia opponent to achieve a bronze medal. Armstrong and Humphries also played a vital part in the team event and reached the final only to be beaten by an equally strong Russian side to take the silver medal.
