Hunslet Hawks' signing coup

Hunslet Hawks have pulled off a coup by signing promising young prop Andrew Yates from Super League giants St Helens.

Yates, 20, has signed a one-year deal with Hunslet after being recommended to the club by Castleford Tigers former Saints prop Nick Fozzard.

Yates, 6ft 2ins and over 16 stone, made 21 appearances for Saints' senior academy in 2010 missing only one game.

Hawks' director of rugby Darren Williams said: "Andy hits hard in defence and prefers the physical side of the game and loves to offload. He is a real coup signing for the Hawks."
